Online marketing or Internet Marketing is defined as the marketing and advertising of products or services on the internet or any other virtual space. Online marketing can be done in a variety of ways which, when coordinated together properly as our team does, is considered to be strategies. We are going to look at some of the online marketing strategies that have proven to be a success for many of our clients.

So What Are The Main Online Marketing Strategies?

At DigiWEI, we currently identify online marketing strategies into 3 broad categories: Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Marketing, Search Engine Optimization Marketing (SEO/SEM), and Social Media/Mobile Marketing.   Online marketing using PPC involves paying ad agencies to propagate your online ad throughout the online marketplace.  The agency’s job is to use established websites to advertise your products and services so as to create leads towards your business or company. Online marketing with SEO (aka Search Engine Optimization) focuses on making a business visible through use of a search engine results.  Any online marketing campaigns employing this method typically strives to place your web presence on the first page of any of the major search engines. Social Media and Mobile online marketing provides a platform on which a business can make itself accessible to anyone through the social hubs that their target market gathers, thus creating brand awareness and improved customer service.  This gives your business an opportunity to really become a part of your customers social network.  That is why social media online marketing is also referred to as social networking.

Success In Online Marketing

The success of any online marketing strategy is determined by understanding the business model your organization uses.   Your organization may choose to use the E-commerce business model.  In E-commerce, goods can be sold directly to consumers, to another business, or it can also be passed on from consumer to consumer. The second business model involves the use of leads.  Your business can use online marketing strategies to drive traffic to your website which can then be captured to convert into viable leads.  These leads can then be funneled into a marketing system to convert into sales.  This can be likened to advertising for foot traffic to a physical “brick and mortar” shop.  The advantage of the online marketing model is that you have an ability accurately track all aspects of the lead generation so that you can fully optimize it as you see the results. The next model involves the use of Affiliate Associates.  In this model an organization can develop a product which will be marketed online by other organizations that will then be compensated in the form of commissions when sales are made.  This is a great model for those who wish to enlist the abilities of those who already have to experience and ability to mass market.  All you would have to focus on is to optimize your sales funnel and conversions. And of course there is the use of social media networks, e-mail, or local directories so as to create targeted sales promotions.  Leveraging social media is way to really hone in on your ideal target market.  As you “socialize” online, you get to understand and interact with your customers on a whole different level.  It gives you and your business an opportunity to really connect with your customer and to ultimately understand what they need when it comes to your product or service. So where does SEO online marketing and website optimization fit in this equation? We now know  (hopefully!)  that in order for a business to be successful in online marketing it has to reach out to targeted clients.   We have established there are plenty of ways to get customers to your doorstep or website.   What next?   Your business needs to be made appealing to the client through the content and structure of your optimized website.  When proper SEO online marketing is applied to your website, the type of traffic you attract is the type of traffic you want.  Getting traffic is one thing…getting traffic that CONVERTS is another.  It is easier to market AND SELL a product or service if it is presented to people that are already looking for it.  When you get a website that is optimized for SEO and online marketing strategies, it can do as much as double or triple your conversion rate once you get the traffic!
